6. PREPARING
“It is said that wisdom lies in not seeing things, but rather in seeing through things.” – Manly P. Hall
As we continue to get closer to the core of what made you pick this book up in the first place, I’d like to equip you with things that will make the journey much easier. While you may have learnt most of them along the way as you explore the world of astral projection and create a universe you enjoy, it will also help you to give you these tools from the word go. They will make it easier for you and give you the chance to start on a right note.
I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for you to realize that the more you are aware of who you are and the power within every human being, the easier it will be for you to experience different realities. Once you finally get beyond the state where you have been limiting yourself, you start realizing that a lot of power is actually within your hands. In this chapter, we will go deeper into ways that will help you be more in tune with your core being. Of course, not every tool will resonate with everyone. There are some that will feel more familiar and others more practical to you. This is quite okay. I do not want to bag you with a lot of work. For this reason, I’d encourage you to pick that which feels more like you and leave out the rest. We are in a world full of diverse beings so trust me when I say that every one of these tools will find someone to work with.
As we have already seen, astral projection is all about you as an independent being and also your link with different realities. This means you first of all need to master yourself and then find the best way you relate with the external world to gain a fulfilling experience. This is what every experience is all about. Everything you go through, knowingly or unknowingly, is first about you as an independent entity and then it trickles down to how you relate with the rest of the universe. Life cannot be about any other thing, or else it would not exist. Therefore, every experience shows who you are and gives you the chance to relate with your external self in a certain way. Astral projection does the same and that is why your astral body will only go to places that it resonates with among the many planes that coexist in a parallel reality.
Having said all that, I want to introduce you to some of the things that will allow you to first of all take charge of yourself and also have the right relationship or an intentional one with the world around you, that is the physical world and with the astral planes when you project.
We will look at thirteen different tools as listed below:
Intentions
Affirmations
Letting go of judgement
Meditation
Visualization
Concentration
Relaxation
Hypnosis
Mind control
Energywork
Soundwaves
Chakras
Merkabah
Each one of these tools has a special part to play in your astral journey. You do not need all of them, only those that work well for your case. The more you can pick from the list, though, the higher your chances are of experiencing diverse possibilities. This is not to say that you should strain yourself to take them all in. The core of your being knows itself and knows what will work best for different occasions. Therefore, let us get started from the top.
Astral Projection Tools Intentions
Intention is a very central part of human existence. Sadly, not many people pay attention to its importance. Most do not even know that they use it. If they do, they only use it once like a drug you go back to when you need a power boost. My hope is that, once you understand the power of intention you will not only use it when astral projecting but also use it in your physical life situations.
Actually, you cannot be good at using intentions when astral projecting until you get good at it when operating with different physical life circumstances. As Wayne Dyer says, our intentions create our reality. Having an intention is sending a message out that you want to experience something. It doesn’t have to be what we consider right or wrong. Ultimately, whether we know it or not, we do send intentions even silently. A good example is when you expect something negative from a day that has already started badly. You tell the universe that you intend to experience more bad occurrences so they can satisfy your expectations of the day continuing to get worse.
The only way to have a life that you want and actually want intentionally is by learning how to use intentions consciously. The best way to take charge of what you experience during your astral journey is by telling the universe what you intend to do. It will of course take some time before you master the technique but once you get started and keep at it, you will start experiencing what you really want.
There are two steps that will get you started when working with intention for astral projection.
Know what you want to experience.
How does one know what they want to experience yet they have never experienced it in the first place? Well, you start by knowing that this is possible and you, too, want to partake of the goodies and refreshments that come with astral projection. You know what to experience by having an expectation at heart. You might have heard of different people surveying astral planes and giving their detailed experiences. Yours is to send out the intention that you want to expand your reality by tapping into the astral realms and not exactly a picture of what the other person saw. You do not want to duplicate someone else’s experience, you want your own. Therefore, do not send the intention that you want an exact experience, have the intention that you want your version of that reality.
Know why you want to have experience in the first place.
Now, here, there is no right or wrong answer. Whatever you seek, you will find when you seek it with all your heart no matter why you really seek it. However, the why gives you something to prove your satisfaction once you accomplish a task. For example, your reason to astral project can be as simple as just wanting to enjoy it. You can do it to escape your physical reality or that you are simply capable of doing it. Once you know your why, you will be more pushed to send out an intention and therefore reach your goal.
While intentions are a great tool to use, you should not use them to negatively manipulate your reality or an astral experience. Although everyone can ultimately create what they really intend to, there are times where your verbal intention says something and your inner knowing means another. This is why just speaking something out loud does not mean you are living it and we will see how this works even better with our next tool, affirmations.
Mantras and Affirmations
Mantras and affirmations are not the same thing. Their intentions could be totally different though one can use them interchangeably or to serve the same purpose. Mantras are words you say to remind yourself of a value or something you stand for. Affirmation work to solidify your belief or to make your mantras stand stronger. Saying, ‘I am a winner’ can be both a mantra and an affirmation. When it’s a mantra, you use it regularly to place the demand within yourself that you are a winner. While using it as an affirmation, it helps you get more aware of the reality of you being a winner. Since these two concepts are almost interchangeable, many people use one when meaning the other.
Mantras and affirmations work well with astral projection, especially when you are new at it. You can use mantras such as, “I liberate my soul to astral project,” or, “I intend to astral project tonight.” Better so, something like, “I consciously astral project,” has a higher chance of giving you the results you want. The other two are workable, but mantras and affirmation teachers now teach that it is more workable to place yourself in the success situation and not in the wanting success situation. The former will get you where you want to go directly while the latter might make you revolve around the want for long before you finally get what you actually want, if you will ever get it in the first place.
Both affirmations and mantras have been used in different worlds for a long time. Things like missions and visions are also types of intentions, mantras and affirmations. The corporate world is also using them so you can be sure that you are working with tools that have actually been tested over time and by different people to prove that they work.
You need to be quite careful when using affirmations. As I had earlier mentioned, just because you send a word out to the universe does not mean that you will get what you expect, at least not what you think you expect. For example, one person might say, “I astral project consciously,” every night and yet deep within they are feeling, “How can anyone astral project, is it even real?” For such a person, the latter is their highest truth at the point and so they cannot cheat the universe to follow the former or the words that come out of their mouth. Once we get into the energy bit, you will see why this is the case. For the foundation of mantras and affirmations in line with astral projection, just know that you need to make sure you are sending out a word that really describes what you feel inside.
Some spiritual teachers, like Marisa Peer, teach that words have power. They are not wrong. When you speak a word often, especially unconsciously, you start living it out. You can try this practice: call beauty, for example. Within a few days, you will start seeing more things that you consider beautiful. This is real because your mind believes words and more than another person’s word, it will believe what you tell yourself.
However, if you are saying something and the core of your being you mean another, it will take too long before what you say starts manifesting if you even get there. In fact, you will affirm what you feel, more than you say, so much that you will give up what you say. Just look around you, you will notice that there are people who have a million and one sticky notes with quotes to remind them of something yet they do not live up to that truth. This is because they are using the notes to seal what they actually feel on the inside. Someone will stand in the mirror and call themselves beautiful while seeing how ugly they think they are. The more they say they are beautiful, the more they remind themselves that they are not.
This is why you should never use affirmations to seal what you actually feel. If deep within you feel that you do not have the strength or belief that you can consciously astral project, do not say that you can, yet. Instead, ask why you feel what you feel and then dissect the problem to solve it. Once you are more convinced within that you can astral project, then use a mantra to speak out your belief. This is the most effective way to use mantras and affirmations in line with astral projection.
Letting go of the Judgement
Following the same form of tools, we have the judgement card. This is the biggest reason why many people get stuck in their mental ruts and not even know it. Another way to tell that you are a very judgmental being is by the stories that go round your head every time. You then project that to the rest of your world. Have you ever come across someone who is overly opinionated? Look closely and you will discover that they are not just opinionated, they are quite judgmental as well. This is because they are so used to telling themselves stories that they cannot resist the urge of telling people stories about themselves, other people and objects around them. It might look quite innocent but if done in an unhealthy manner, they eventually start overworking their brains and are more inclined to land into a stressful feeling if not situation.
In line with astral plane projection judgement can creep you out of even trying. Why do you think it is hard for skeptics to try out astral projection in the first place? It is quite simple. They have already cast out a wrong judgement to the idea and the experience. They do not even have tangible evidence of, say, meeting monsters along their astral journey, but they have picked such wrong judgments and made them their way. Unless they come to a place where they willfully cast out the judgement, they will not be able to experience astral projection with all its enriching benefits.
But what if I tried and failed? Don’t I have the right to cast a hush judgement that the experience does not exist?
I’d say no, and not at all to that, matter of fact. Remember that every person is different and there could be so many reasons why you are not getting what you want. First of all, there are many techniques you can use to consciously enjoy astral projection. Just because one technique didn’t work does not mean that the rest will also not work. You will have to try them all to finally say that yours is a hopeless undertaking. Also, even if all your techniques do not work, have you checked the state of your mind before you started trying to astral project. Did you try using preparation tools as listed in this chapter? I mean, the reasons are endless. I could easily think of twenty reasons why you will not astral project and in fact, I will have a chapter dedicated to discussing such barriers. You should not quickly call it quits. Trust me, if you really want the experience, you will have it and do whatever it takes to get it, hopefully in the right manner.
I have also hinted severally how judgement can limit your experience even if it is a good judgement. For example, you might have tried one way and it worked. This does not mean you make this your final gospel. There are still other techniques that might work for you and for others as well. Yes, you can use more than one or two techniques when astral projecting and be successful in all of them. You only need to see the possibility of that happening and you will be on your way to making it happen.
I also need to mention something here in line with different astral projection teachers. The biggest mistake we make is thinking that just because one technique works for you it should work for everyone else. You, therefore, set out to teach that that is the main one that works. While it might be okay for some people, you should be all rounded enough to realize that different techniques means that different people will relate differently to each. This means that, even if a technique does not work well with you, you are still obligated to teach it in case it does with someone else. Also, no technique is superior to another. This would be an insane idea to even imply so. They are only things we need to use because of the limitations of the physical world to cross us to the limitless realms.
The easiest way to cast out all that judgement is by just being open. It is actually that simple. Sadly, some of us have been taught that you need to have an opinion about everything so that you can fit in the world. Well, if that is the case, then the best opinion you can have is that everything serves a purpose and just because it doesn’t serve you at the time does not mean it is useless to everyone else. That’s a hard truth to take in but once you understand what it means, you start realizing that it liberates you from a lot of stress and having to form opinions about everything. The best judgement you can cast on astral projection, if you have to, is that it is a possible experience, whether you have found a way to do it or not yet.
Meditation
Meditation has become quite a phenomenon among both spiritual and scientific circles. The beauty is that many people are testifying to how the technique has helped them find more peace, release stress and enlarge their consciousness. While meditation has so many benefits, one of the most significant one in this case is to help you get into the position where you can easily and comfortably astral project.
By nature, meditation helps you relax and concentrate on your inner self. As we have initially seen, your ability to astral project is highly dependent on how well you can tap into your inner self, consciously. This is a hard thing for human beings to do, especially when there is so much to distract you on the outside. Many people find themselves overwhelmed by what is going on in their physical world that they cannot really find the peace to even rest at night. This then becomes a significant obstacle when you are trying to be conscious in the night.
Meditation involves using two techniques that we will view independently in this list as well: relaxation and concentration. In terms of relaxation, meditation uses a breathing system that helps calms your physical being. By breathing deeply through your diaphragm, you bring every part of you into a relaxed state and somehow balance your entire energy. There is another type of meditation that helps you work with concentration, where you choose to observe one thing you can imagine in your mind. You sit, relax, then draw all your attention to that object without really judging it. The idea is not to have a thousand stories to tell yourself about the object but an inner awareness of the item without any judgement.
You do not always have to sit like the Buddha to meditate, contrary to many people’s beliefs. You can easily meditate when you are sitting on the couch with your legs down and still keeping your back straight. Some people prefer meditating with their backs laid down and their knees lifted, which is still a workable way of doing it. As long as you can sit in any of these three positions without moving or overthinking for at least ten to twenty minutes, then you are on a good direction to being excellent at it.
Meditation is good for one seeking to astral project since it can serve as an exit technique, and still help you exercise astral projecting in different ways.
Relaxation
I have mentioned relaxation when talking about meditation, and by itself it is an excellent way of preparing to visit different astral plans. It is important to notice that another common reason why most people do not astral project is because their bodies are quite tense. In such a state, you are too aware of your physical body to let your astral body exit. That tension is like chains holding all your bodies in your physical state. Since you do not want this to happen, you have to learn how to let go of the tension and relax.
To begin, you need to once again let go of any negative judgement. Once this is out of the way, draw your consciousness to your physical body but not to hold it tight. This time, you will consciously let go of all the tension you hold. Survey your body with your consciousness to tell the areas that still hold some negative energy. To make sure you are not forgetting any part, start with your head. Feel it relax, feel your ears, eyes, nose and mouth relax. Take as many deep breaths as you do this. Go to your neck and feel it relax, then down to your shoulders, hands and lower to your chest. Go to your stomach and let it relax. Move your consciousness down until you have allowed every part of your body to relax, even the tips of your toes. Continue taking as many deep breaths as you can.
This is a great relaxing technique that you can even use when you are about to meditate. The moment your body is at rest, you will start feeling more in tune with the energy around you. Do not let anything distract you back into a tense state. For starters, it might not be as easy as you may think; however, when you keep at it and send out your intention to do so, then you will slowly start doing so even naturally when interacting in your physical world. Affirmations and mantras are great assistants in this case. This is why you have seen artists or musicians mumble a few words before they go out to the stage to perform. They are simply using words to calm their nerves.
Concentration
Concentration will help you shout out to the world around you and bring your attention to something you want to pay attention to. As we already know, this might not be quite as easy as it sounds with everyone. When growing up or during your school days, you could tell that some people were better at concentrating on what the teacher was saying than others. There’s always that one student that can barely keep their attention focused on one thing for a long time. Actually, there have been many researches that prove that as long as you are not really interested in or find whatever you want to concentrate on interesting, you will barely make it past two minutes. You will always find something else to take control of your mind.
Another reason why one might not be too good at concentrating is when they have something else bugging them. At this point, this other thing seems to be more important than what you should be concentrating on. This gives us two things to work with, first interest and secondly meaning.
If you want to be better at concentrating, try giving new meaning to what you want to concentrate on. For example, if you have something else that seems to be more important, make the meaning of what you are concentrating on to be even more urgent. Say you are thinking about bills to pay when you are supposed to be concentrating on meditation, realize that you cannot do anything at the moment to pay the bills but you can concentrate on the meditation for peace. This way a sense of momentary peace becomes more important than the bills and so you can concentrate on that. Secondly is ensuring that you really have a solid interest in what you want to concentrate on. If astral projection is what you are really interested in, then you will not have to battle so much to concentrate. Remind yourself of the benefits and the excitement you will have once you finally start exploring astral planes. Take care that the excitement is not too overwhelming that it ends up distracting you instead of helping you keep your focus.
Again, you can use meditation to help you work better on your concentration. The more you do it, the better you get.
Visualization
Visualization is quite close to concentration. Actually, concentration works better with visualization. Here, you are creating mental pictures and paying close attention to them. Many joined meditations use a lot of visualization techniques. You will be asked to go deep within yourself, close your eyes, and try envisioning different things that the guide will elaborate. In such practices, the guide has to be very specific and detailed so they are not losing any students in the process.
In the same way that you can be guided by another person to explore certain visuals, you can do it to yourself. Here’s a practical example, take a photo and observe it keenly. Try to get as many details as possible. Now turn down the photo and try to draw it in your mind. Try to be as detailed as possible. What color stands out? Is there something abnormal about the photo that you noticed? Are there vegetations on the image? What kind are they? As you ask and answer such questions you are using your mind to instruct the visual part of your brain to draw a replica of the photo.
Aside from the photo technique, you could just sit down and think about that person you really like. When did you last see them? What were they wearing? How were their faces expressed? Go on asking yourself such questions to get a mental picture of them. Do not get lost in stories about the person or what they said. That will only distract you. Just remember and make no particular judgements.
Visualization is a great technique when it comes to astral projections. It will help you with your memory which you dearly need to have a successful experience. Often, the astral world can be too overwhelming for the brain to readily shed light on its memory when you are back in your body. This is why it is said that many people have been projecting but not consciously, or the conscious part of their brain cannot bring up the memory since it is not so familiar to the physical world. You will need to practice with your visualization techniques so it can help you remember certain details when you astral project. You will also need visualization to work on concentration since you use your visual abilities to keep your consciousness centered on one item.
Mind Control
God knows that the mind can be quite irritating. Have you ever sat down or laid your head to rest but your mind won’t let you? The stories in there keep going round and round. It is almost like someone had a remote and kept switching different stories and channels. One moment you are thinking about why you haven’t cleaned your car and the next you are lamenting about that annoying boss. You think that is done and you get something else to keep the stories running. If this is you, and I am sure almost everyone has this problem before they start practicing mindfulness, you need to take charge of your brain and do so as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will try to astral project only for your mind to stop you by giving you every logical reason you can think of why you will not make it. The funny thing is that your mind will always know what to say to convince you, it knows you too well because it is actually you.
But is there anyone who has ever really taken control of their minds? Yes, and even more people are doing it today. The best teacher of how to let go of the stories in your head, in my opinion, is Eckhart Tolle. He has phenomenal teachings on consciousness. Another teacher you should try is Michael Singer. In his book, The Surrender Experiment, he talks about his journey to liberating his consciousness from his mind. From these two teachers, you will find one notion in common. You will not have the strength to take control of your mind until you are tired of the stories it keeps circulating. The problem is that many will not want to let go of these stories. At some level, they love the stories and that is why they keep letting them flow in and out.
There is a secret here that many people will not tell you. Once you have finally gotten tired of all the mental noise, you will not stop it by fighting it. Remember, casting negative judgement does not keep away the stories. It in fact enforces them. Instead you need not participate. You need to realize that you are the being observing the stories and not the one telling them. Aaron Abke has a perfect way of helping one deal with this mental drama. Simply observe them and let them pass without you having the need to engage. This will be your first step to liberating your mind.
Hypnosis
The subject of hypnosis has been around for too long to say that it is not true. Even doctors these days use the concept to help people deal with mental issues. The government uses the same to get unbiased witnessing when solving a crime. I mean, it is so much in practice that you would have been thought insane if you had predicted this a decade or two ago. We have already seen how hypnosis has been used by different doctors when experimenting with clairvoyance and remote viewing. But these are not the only two projections that can work with hypnosis. Astral projection is another one and there are so many success stories of people who have used hypnosis as their entry points when projecting into astral reality.
Just like visualization, you can either have a guide or a physician to take you through a hypnosis or you can do it yourself. When working with a guide, he/she will give instructions that you will have to follow keenly. Of course, you will close your eyes and then you will have to relax. Once you are relaxed you will either use the pineal gland or third eye technique to get there or the physician will play hypnotizing music to do so. Some people have the ability to find their hypnosis states without either of these techniques. A good example is Dr. Weiss’s patient whom we have mentioned earlier. It all depends on what your body is comfortable with.
To self-hypnotize, you will need to learn how to use the guides or psychologists use on yourself. You can either go with the meditation or the pineal gland method. The latter involves a few deep breaths and then drawing your eyes to face each other and pull them upwards to focus on the point just above and in the middle of your eyes. This is where your third eye is located. You will then have to take deep breaths as you allow your body to fall into a hypnosis.
All these practices you can try on your own. And no, they are not harmful to your brain or your mental health in any way. Once you are ready to return to your body after an astral projection, you will easily do so, even if you used the hypnosis method to get there.
Energy Awareness
This is another concept that I believe more people should start embracing. A lot of spiritual practices today are starting to bring energy work into their teachings. This is because they have started to realize that you're a big part of energy, meaning a lot of energy goes in and out of your system. There are teachings that claim that everything is a different form of energy. As much as light is the fastest moving energy, matter is a lower vibration of the same energy. Since we are a part of matter then we are energy as well. Teachers like Robert Bruce mention that your astral body is one of the many energy bodies we have. Your etheric body is also an energy body and there are many others that we might have not yet found names for.
Energy work is quite broad. You might have had the concept of auras and how people are able to sense your mood by reading your auras. People known as empaths are believed to have the power of deeply reading people’s auras, either knowingly or unknowingly. They therefore might have a hard time filtering their emotions until they come to the realization of their capabilities and use them to help others. Robert Bruce has written a candid book on energy work and I recommend you get it for better understanding of how different energy systems work. To mention a few concepts, you will learn about the different energy centers that a human body has. You will also learn the difference between the areas on your body that receive and emit energy and those that store energy. Your third eye area, your heart area and your bowel area are the three main energy centers.
To play around with your energy, you can bring your palms close together as if you want to clap but don’t let them touch. Turn them fast as if you are making circles with both hands. You will start feeling some sense of energy in between. You can also cross your hands in a hugging position and try to close the circle slowly and open it without tightly hugging yourself. When you keep making such movements you concentrate some energy around these areas and you will easily feel it.
There are a few scientific researches now out on the fact that every living organism has energy and you can tell by observing their auras. Photos have been taken of leaves that are cut and still the aura part remains. You can easily see your aura when you observe your hands. Try to wave them a little and see if you can observe this energy.
Sound Waves
Sound waves are quite useful for a lot of practices. To get the basics, sound waves use sound vibration to help move your brain from its delta states and all the way to the alpha, beta and gamma brain waves. Such waves alter the normal functioning of your brain but not in a bad way. They help you reach these phenomenon brain states so you can relax, get hypnotized or meditate. Wonder why you always go to a certain playlist to help you relax when working out or doing house chores? On the outside, it looks like you are enjoying music but the truth is, sound waves are working behind the scene to keep your brain relaxed. Another great example is all the meditation music you now see online. Some even have different frequencies such as 777hz, 111hz, etc., that are said to help you relax, which they actually do. This is why some of us sleep during meditation: your brain is so relaxed that it goes to sleep. Some astral projectors say that you will fall asleep because your astral body lifts from the physical body when certain sound waves are in vibration.
You can even go to sleep with an 8-hr rain and thunderstorm sound waves available on our website or YouTube. This is one of the tools of astral projection that you might not need much practice when using it since it somehow does all the work for you. You only need to put on a sound obstructing earphones or headphones and get comfortable. However, if you are the one who often falls asleep under these waves, you will need to look for ways to remain conscious. Number one is not doing it when you are too tired. If your physical body is too tired, the memory part that needs to remember your journey in the astral planes will not have enough energy to stay alert. You therefore need to learn the body asleep mind awake technique to get you the results you want when working with sound waves.
Chakras
Chakras work quite closely with energy work and consciousness. There are nine stages of consciousness and seven of them are in direct link with the body in a vertical line from head to toe or to the pelvic area. These seven chakras include the root chakra around the pelvic area, the sacral chakra below the navel, the navel chakra or the solar amplexus below the heart, the heart chakra or the central chakra, the throat chakra, the brow chakra or the third eye, and the crown chakra. The eighth and ninth energy centers are outside the body and many people do not work with them as often as with the seven. It is believed that you need to grow your consciousness to your ninth energy center and then the tenth is the dark point that leads back to the source.
Working with chakras is a great opportunity to be self- aware and work on past traumas. Spiritual teachers who do work with chakras say that you can easily tell which part of your chakra needs healing by which part gets triggered by different circumstances. Ever wondered why sometimes when you have to face something, you feel some certain form of tension either around your heart or the solar amplexus? This might be a message from these energy centers that the version of you linked to those chakras needs attention. Many people walk around with childhood traumas because they haven’t taken the time to look into their root chakra. Since this is the center that houses a lot of childhood memories, the community matters, you can easily not understand why it is hard for you to relate with people rightly when you have no idea that the problem is situated here.
Every chakra point is symbolic and you need to take the time to understand how they work. The most important thing to grasp at his point since I do not want to go too deep into chakras and energy or consciousness work is that they help to first of all determine the kind of planes you land during astral projection. Stories around Akashic records, of which many astral projectors have been able to access in a few of their journeys are often linked to the third eye and the crown chakra. This is why understanding how to work with chakras can significantly help with astral projection even in remembering and interpreting them.
Merkabah
The Merkabah is often viewed in three different ways or interpretations. The Jewish mystics have their spiritual concept and so do people who do energy work and people who study awareness. It is also known as your body’s chariot that can help to transport you to different realities. This is why it is quite relevant to astral projection. The dead sea scrolls have a lot to say about the chakras and you can visit different literatures on the same to understand the details of the chariot. Brian Scott and Christina Lopes are some of the teachers who have used the Merkabah in their meditations and activations. You can try one of these meditations to see if you resonate with the concept and also see if it can help you trigger some astral abilities.
As you can see, many of these tools are somehow intertwined. If you work with meditation, you might either be working with affirmations, visualizations, concentrations and relaxation as well. If you work with visualization you are somehow working with concentration too. The Merkabah and chakras are somehow a part of energy work. Sound waves will help in meditation and hypnosis. I could go on and on but I am sure you get what I mean. This is to show how all these tools and many others could all work to draw you into your state that allows you astral project efficiently and maybe quicker than you thought. You will need to practice with these and many other techniques to get good at projecting. I cover the exercises after we look at the techniques you can use to astral project.
Your biggest take away in this chapter should be that once you work on your core being, once you have full control of who you are and learn how to consciously tap into your awareness, you will be on an easier road to astral projection. This is a part that many forget sadly. Many want to skip to the experience without laying the right knowledge and technique foundation. It is like taking a journey of two week for forty years. If you know the bible, you will get that this is what happened to the Israelites. You do not have to use the same route as they did, you can have a short cut by paying a significant amount of attention here. Once you are good with the foundation the rest will come much easier. The body of astral projecting will be stronger when the foundation is right.
