MORNING PAGES
This stream-of-consciousness exercise illuminates dark corners of your mind and helps you work through problems and process emotions.
NEED TO KNOW
BENEFITS: Just after waking before your ego’s defences are in place, you can connect with the ‘real’ you - logic stands aside, placing you in direct contact with your intuition. Each morning as you face the page, you meet yourself.
TIME: 30 mins
WHEN: every morning
NEEDED: something to write on and a pen (I recommend an A4 journal)
AFFIRM: There is no right or wrong, I am open to everything my inner self has to say.
THE PROCESS
Keep something to write with and on besides your bed - nothing digital
As soon as you wake up start writing
The aim is to fill three A4 sized pages. No more. No less. Don’t be concerned with what is being written, just write.
Morning pages are strictly private - do not show these to anyone.
You should avoid re-reading your morning pages as you go, but you can perform a ritual at the end of each book, journal or note pad. Re-read your pages, tie it up with a ribbon, storing it away making room for the next one.
