RELEASING TENSION
Use Tantric breathing to relive physical or mental tension and bring you to a sense of connection with yourself, in tuen leaving you open and ready to connect with others. Conscious breathing is a central part of this deep, sensual exercise, which is practised to awaken, invigorate and release your own life-force energy for the purpose of self-healing.
NEED TO KNOW
BENEFITS: relaxation, softness in the body, receptivity, trust, clarity, and connection.
TIME: 5 minutes or as long as needed, daily
HOW: sit or lay down comfortably, eyes closed, mouth open a little
THE PROCESS
Invite relaxation not your body and observe your breathing for 3-5 breathes
Drop your jaw a little and inhale deeply trough your mouth, while expanding your belly outwards.
Breathe out deeply through your mouth, allowing your belly to drop back inwards. Accompany the exhale with a long gentle ‘aaahhh’ sound for a count of 5.
Continue the gentle, open mouthed belly breathing, sighing on the exhale. Now invite each sigh to gently release whatever is causing tension within your body and mind.
When ready, let the last of your tensing on a fairly out-breath, leaving you more receptive to those around you. End with a gesture of completion.
