COMBATING FATIGUE

This conscious, connected mouth-breathing practise combats fatigue and brings the breather back to joy, inspiration and energy. A transformational process, it is ideal when you know what you need to do to stay healthy, but cant raise the energy to do it. Afterwards, with renewed will power, improve your wellbeing with some exercise or a healthy meal.

NEED TO KNOW

TIME: 3-5 minutes

HOW: play one hand on upper chest, sit comfortably with your back straight, hand on belly, inspiring/energizing music

THE PROCESS

  1. Start the music and bring your awareness to your breathing. Relax your jaw and open your mouth wide so you can breathe in and out through your mouth without straining.

  2. Start counting each complete breath. Breathe smoothly, with no gap between the inhale and exhale, until you have counted 100 breaths. Feel uplifted by both breath and music.

  3. Use positive affirmations while breathing consciously, ‘I am worthy to receive energy’, ‘ I embrace this day’, ‘I move forward with ease and grace.’

  4. Now take a deep breath in and hold it for 3-5 seconds, then gently release it. Complete the process by bringing your hands to the prayers position infant of your heart.

  5. Close your eyes for a moment. If you feel lightheaded, remain seated until you feel grounded. Then stand up slowly.
